Woodcut: Palace interior with seven planetary compartments

Woodcut of an ornate interior architectural facade with seven compartments/niches, each labeled with planetary names. Visible labels: MERCVRIVS, VENVS, SOL, MARS, and partially visible others (LVNA, IVPITER, SATVRNVS). Rich ornamental borders with floral/arabesque patterns. This is the palace of the seven planets — a key cosmological/astrological scene in the HP.

'Smaragdo' (emerald), 'Saphico' (sapphire). Reader is identifying the precious stones associated with each planet — a standard astrological-lapidary correspondence. This is potentially very significant for the alchemical reading: planetary metals and stones are fundamental to alchemical theory

'Sulphure' (sulphur) — if confirmed, this is an explicit alchemical term. Sulphur is one of the three alchemical principles (sulphur, mercury, salt). 'Sphyricis' may relate to spheres/spherical. 'Arte' = art

Scholarly Significance

The planetary palace woodcut is architecturally and cosmologically significant. The reader's annotations connecting planetary compartments to precious stones (Smaragdo/emerald, Saphico/sapphire) reveal an astrological-lapidary reading of the HP's architecture. If the word 'Sulphure' is correctly read, this page becomes another alchemical annotation site: a reader is explicitly connecting the planetary symbolism to the sulphur-mercury theory of metals. This would be consistent with Hand B's program elsewhere in the volume.

Note (possible_new_alchemical_site): If 'Sulphure' annotation confirmed, this page (p.88) should be added to the alchemical site inventory alongside pp. 28, 42, 127
