Thesis 5.9
Latin
Habere aliquiditatiuam et diffinibilem realitatem commune est figmentis et non figmentis.
English
Possessing a quidditative, definable reality is shared alike by fictions and by non-fictions.
Farmer's rendering, 'common to created and uncreated things' (farmer1998:12634), interprets 'figmentis et non figmentis' loosely; the Latin literally opposes 'figmenta' (constructs without real being, e.g. a chimera) to things that are not such constructs, in line with the Avicennian view that even a non-existent essence has a definable quiddity. Sense checked against farmer1998:12634.
