The Rosarium Philosophorum (Rose Garden of the Philosophers) is a 16th-century alchemical compilation.

Scholarly Significance

Best known for its series of twenty woodcuts illustrating the alchemical wedding of the King and Queen, it provides a highly psychological and symbolic roadmap for the union of opposites (coniunctio oppositorum).
