Thomas Aquinas (1225–1274) was the preeminent Dominican philosopher and theologian.

Scholarly Significance

Though strictly an Aristotelian, numerous alchemical treatises (such as the Aurora Consurgens) were pseudonymously attributed to him to grant theological legitimacy to the 'divine art'.
