Proclus Lycaeus

Proclus Lycaeus (412–485 AD) was the head of the Platonic Academy in Athens and the great systematizer of late Neoplatonism.

Scholarly Significance

His massive commentaries synthesized Platonic theology, Orphic hymns, and the Chaldean Oracles into a highly structured, hierarchical universe, deeply influencing later medieval and Renaissance esoteric systems.
