Apollonius of Tyana (Balinas)

Apollonius of Tyana, known in the Arabic tradition as Balinas, is a legendary Neopythagorean sage and the purported discoverer of the Emerald Tablet.

Historical Context

In the Sirr al-Khaliqa, Balinas discovers the Tablet clutched in the hands of an ancient statue of Hermes inside a hidden cave beneath Tyana.
