Significator

REVIEWED HIGH SEED_DATA

A card chosen to represent the querent or the question before the reading begins.

Some reading methods require selecting a card (usually a court card) to represent the querent before shuffling and dealing. The significator is placed at the center of certain spreads. Court card selection may be based on the querent's age, gender, physical appearance, or astrological sign. Some readers consider significator selection unnecessary.

Significance

Whether to use a significator is one of the methodological decisions that divides tarot practitioners.
