As a front-page clipping from early 1963, this item dates from a period when Dick was still living in the Marin County area. The Man in the High Castle had been published the previous year and would win the Hugo Award in September 1963. This was also a period of increasing personal turbulence for Dick, as his marriage to Anne Dick was beginning to deteriorate. The Point Reyes Light covered local news in the rural western Marin communities near Dick's residence.
