The ArmadilloCon 10 Program Book is the official 36-page program for Austin's premiere science fiction convention, held October 11-13, 1989 at the Wyndham South hotel. The convention was sponsored by the Fandom Association of Central Texas (FACT), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit literary and educational organization based in Austin.
Guests of Honor included author Lewis Shiner (Deserted Cities of the Heart), Hugo-winning fan writer and File 770 editor Mike Glyer, Hugo-nominated artist Teddy Harvia (David Thayer, also credited for Wingnut Soccer), Doubleday Books editor Pat LoBrutto, and toastmaster Connie Willis (Lincoln's Dreams, Fire Watch). The program book also advertised advance registration for the following year's event at $10.
The document additionally references ArmadilloCon's previous year (1988) with Guest of Honor K.W. Jeter, fan guests Jane and Scott Dennis, toastmaster Lewis Shiner, artist guest Brad W. Foster, and editor guest Ginjer Buchanan. K.W. Jeter is particularly relevant to PKD studies as a close friend of Dick's and a fellow science fiction author who coined the term "steampunk." The ArmadilloCon program book documents the Texas science fiction fan community and its connections to writers in Dick's orbit.
