For the first time in my life I had pulsus intermittens (as physicians call it, who are practised in the science of the pulse): that is to say, missing one pulsation after the fifth beat, or the seventh, or the eleventh, although it was strong and regular. I was but a little sick, yet in a certain consternation of mind about the discord of the two skryers about the things they saw. 14July. EN. and B.H. went homeward.
