Thursday. A meridie, hora 2Yi. My son Michael Dee was baptised in the cathedral church of Prague Castle. His Imperial Majesty's chaplain conducted the baptism service. The godparents were the most illustrious Don Gulielmo de Sancto Clemente (Ambassador from the King of Spain to the Emperor), and his magnificent lordship the Lord Romff (his Imperial Majesty's First Lord of the Bedchamber, and an intimate and eminent member of his Privy Council), &c. The godmother was her most noble ladyship the Lady Dittrechstain, most beloved wife of the Lord Dittrechstain, who is his Imperial Majesty's High Steward. At my request the infant was named Michael, in grateful memory of the blessed Michael, who (by God's mercy) was, is and will be such a benefactor, helper and guardian to us, &c.
