Summary

Dee's astronomical and astrological natural philosophy is organized aphoristically, aiming to ground celestial influence, optics, rays, and mathematical reasoning in a systematic account of nature. The collection's edition surrounds the text with substantial scholarly apparatus, so database chunks include both Dee's aphorisms and explanatory essays. The primary-text value is strongest for Dee's attempt to make astronomy, astrology, mathematics, and causal physics mutually reinforcing.
