Arthur & Robin

Matter of the Greenwood Document

The Tale of Gamelyn

Summary
A younger son cheated of his inheritance by his elder brother takes to the forest, becomes king of the outlaws, and returns to hang the corrupt justice and jury. Survives only in manuscripts of the Canterbury Tales, where it seems to have been intended for the Cook. The clearest literary ancestor of the dispossessed-outlaw plot Munday would later give Robin.
