Arthur & Robin

Matter of the Greenwood Document

Scotichronicon (Bower's continuation of Fordun)

Summary
Places Robin in 1266 among Simon de Montfort's disinherited, calls him a famous murderer celebrated in song by a foolish populace, and tells the story of Robin hearing mass with such devotion that he refused to break off when his enemies arrived - and won the fight anyway. Bower disapproves and repeats the legend at length regardless.
