## Overview
A project documenting the readership, marginalia, and scholarly reception of the *Hypnerotomachia Poliphili* (Venice: Aldus Manutius, 1499), directly building on James Russell's PhD thesis *Many Other Things Worthy of Knowledge and Memory* (2014).

## Core Content
- **Marginalia Gallery**: 109 individual folio pages displaying annotated manuscript images.
- **Annotators**: Identifies 11 annotator hands across 6 manuscript copies, including detailed folio-specific scholarly descriptions for two key alchemist annotators.
- **Scholars**: 60 profiles of scholars from 1899 to 2024 who analyzed the HP.
- **Reference Tools**: 109-entry bibliography with gap analysis, a 94-term dictionary across 15 categories, and a 71-event reception timeline.

## Architecture & Provenance
- **Pipeline**: SQLite (24 tables) → Python Scripts (47 pipeline scripts) → Static HTML.
- **Data Provenance**: Employs a strict tracking system:
  - **Methods**: Deterministic, LLM-assisted, Human Verified.
  - **Confidence**: HIGH, MEDIUM, LOW.
  - All LLM-generated summaries and attributions are visually marked as unreviewed until explicitly confirmed.
